Hike Buffalo Bayou
You don’t have to leave town for a mini-vacation. You don’t even have to get out of the city limits. Discover the sights and sounds of nature as you hike along Buffalo Bayou, taking in the rolling landscape and lush greenery and delighting in art sculpture in unexpected places along the way. You’ll gain a new appreciation of the Great Outdoors that is practically at your doorstep. This excellent hike is three hours of beautiful trail you won’t forget.

Hike Lake Houston
Ten miles of Magnolias, oaks and pines and the white sandy beaches of Peach Creek near New Caney. A chance to be with nature just outside Houston. This at one time used to be part of the Girl Scout Camp and Champion Paper Company.

"Shop Till You Drop" San Marcos Prime Outlet
By popular demand! Bargain hunting and a beautiful nature walk, rolled into one fun-filled day. We’ll hike around this shoppers’ paradise, poke our noses into outlet stores, then (if we finish early enough) head for the trails and enjoy some of central Texas’ famed outdoor beauty.

Bluebonnet Trail
Join Marian for a memorable drive and walk through colorful Bluebonnet Country. You’ll enjoy good company, great viewing, and get a little exercise. We’ll head toward Lake Sommerville, stretch our legs walking through the park there, then head into Washington on the Brazos State Park for another scenic ramble.

Buesher State Park
Meet new friends, learn about the environment, share ideas about nature—all while wandering through trails of oak, juniper and pine woodlands. On the way, see lots of wildflowers and other sights. This beautiful park is located just east of Bastrop, near Austin, bordering Texas’ Lost Pines region.

Hermann Park and Rice University Fountain Tour
Take a stroll and weave through the park, campus and surrounding areas—you get a different perspective on foot. In total you will see at least 6 water sites and enjoy some exercise at the same time. Those of you who want to do a picnic brunch after the walk can do so.
